South Lanarkshire Local Agenda 21 Partnership is committed to achieving
a sustainable environment and an improved quality of life for both present
and future generations.

The Partnership is committed to action that will lead to: -
Attractive and accessible environments that will provide a better quality
of life throughout South Lanarkshire by;
Remit and Terms of Reference
The partnership will develop, manage and monitor a Local Agenda 21 process
for South Lanarkshire. It will:
- Identify priority LA21 action issues;
- Establish processes for engaging community groups in the LA21 process;
- Develop an LA21 Partnership Strategy;
- Publish annual action plans to support the aims of the strategy;
- Conduct an annual review of progress on LA21 action priorities;
- Develop indicators and reporting mechanisms;
- Identify potential sources of funding and support for LA21 action;
- Promote and publicise LA21 through a variety of means including the
internet;
- Link with other community planning partnerships with a view to developing
complimentary action;
- Ensure that action on LA21 issues in South Lanarkshire is linked
into national guidance and relevant legislation.
